Cookies and storage.

Scope and purpose

This policy covers Australia Illuminate (Auslume), founded and operated by Rohim Karki, ABN 34 590 057 675, at auslume.com.au and media.auslume.com.au. Cookies are small browser records sent with later requests. Local storage retains information on your device. What is used depends on enabled services and your actions.

Necessary authentication and security

When accounts are enabled, Supabase stores authentication and refresh information in cookies beginning sb-, sometimes split into numbered chunks. OAuth can set a short-lived PKCE code-verifier cookie. These maintain sign-in and session renewal, not advertising profiles. Expiry follows authentication configuration and may refresh during use. Signing out clears the application session; deleting authentication cookies signs you out.

Cloudflare or hosting protections may set necessary security cookies when challenges or abuse controls apply. Names and durations depend on active features. Reading public articles does not require a reader account.

Media and sharing

Video links open external sites. An embedded player loads only when you choose Load video. Its provider then receives your IP address, browser information and page context, and may use its own storage. Privacy-enhanced YouTube playback does not mean anonymous playback.

Sharing uses ordinary links or the device share menu. Auslume does not load a social tracking widget simply to display a share button.

Analytics and advertising

Optional analytics and advertising are disabled by default. Any enabled measurement service must be disclosed with applicable choices. Cookie-free measurement can still process technical information.

This policy does not activate AdSense. Before serving ads we require publisher approval and applicable consent management. Google and other vendors may use cookies for advertising based on visits to this and other websites. Personalised-ad controls are available at myadcenter.google.com. Visitors in regions covered by Google's certified-CMP requirement must be served through a compliant consent setup; a custom banner alone does not meet that requirement.

Control and changes

Use browser settings to inspect, block or delete cookies and local storage. You can avoid loading third-party media and browse without signing in. Blocking necessary storage may prevent login or security checks. When optional tracking is enabled, withdrawing consent must be as accessible as giving it. Refusing advertising cookies does not prevent reading public content.

We update this policy when practices change. The Privacy Policy covers personal information, access, correction, deletion and complaints.

We aim to acknowledge complaints within seven days and respond within 30 days. If more time is needed, we will explain why. If the Privacy Act applies and a privacy complaint remains unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Consumer remedies and other applicable complaint avenues remain available.
